One of the best days I had in China!
In stark contrast, the weather was fantastic the day we visited Hutong. It was a "ying tian" 阴天 with the occasional breeze.
The lake was beautiful, the light reflected off the surface the lake picked up the color of the surrounding the greenery really well.
Took in the sight of the lake on the lake cruise accompanied by traditional chinese music. Lady on my boat played the pi pa. haha. Thank God it wasn't an erhu.
Pictures~!
That's starbucks in Chinese
Lake view (haha. Coincidentally its the name of the hotel we had classes in)
Lulu the drink promoter. We were offered snacks. popcorn, chinses tea, sunflower seeds and other random nuts which i cannot name. The popcorn was good. I single handedly ate 60%.
Music accompaniment.
That's the lady on my boat. She plays in a extremely well. But also in a very emotional manner. (look at her eyes)
The locals play and swim in the lake. We tried to offer the two boys popcorn. haha
Swimming man. *faints*

The we had a tour of the area. There were pubs littered all round the lake. Very much like clarke quay of Sg.
Movenpick ice cream - which we don't even have in Sg
Pretty store tucked in a cornerThat's interior of a bar/resturant which SJ, miss Q and roomie stumbled upon while visiting the loo. Pretty in pink.
Tricycle ride!!! Loved this street.
Creative shot by SJ.
Roomie wanted to cycle for real. But shi fu said no. Cos she's not trained. haha. I don't recall the origin of my expression.
That's our shi fu which roomie and I forgot to tip!!! Hai. Still feeling bad bout it till today. I know lulu and brother soo tiped their shi fu 75 rmb. (Shaky picture. Taken by another shi fu)
Man in black is luckier.
That's our tour guide. haha. She's one of a kind. Needs to shave though. Esp when she's holding the guide flag :X Her fav phrase is "OK?" Speak to her in Chinese, she'll reply in english. Vice versa. And that can be irritating at times.
!!!!!!!!!!! MISS CHOY!!!! hahahaha. This one seriously shocked the daylights out of me. Like what is miss choy doing selling silk on the streets of Hutong? muha. Miss choy. I've found your long lost twin. In China.

Siheyuan, traditional courtyard residences
We met fellow Singaporeans!! Primary school kids on a tour. They're adorable.
Goldfish were reared as they were considered auspicious.
Haha. I asked for a smile. And she gave me one. Very sweet girl.
The lady in white with her hair tied is the owner of the house. Introduced the concept of siheyuan to us in amusing english.
That's the wedding room and some role playing. SJ with Mbei
Miss Q looking relieved that she managed to escape from her betrothment.
Girls in front of the girls room. Which was supposedly cold in winter and warm in Summer. The boys room was the opposite. Sexist.
Lulu and Brother Soo trying their hand @ chinese chess to the amusment of the Americans. "Are they really playing?"
~
Dinner hosted by the locals. Shared a table with Zach, Adam and Will.
Zach drinking (and choking actually). He was trying to get lady of the house + tour guide to drink with him. From then on, the tour guide calls him "beer boy"
Drinking at a pub after dinner. Hm. Erm. This one I'll tell the story personally.
Handsome man aka Marc aka superman. Brother soo don't stand a chance beside him.
And we went back for KTV @ the basement of our hotel. Dirt cheap. Lulu's a singer.
